Cultural Exchange: NCOBRA Youth Commission, La Plazita Institute, Ethiopian World Federation, Incorporated, Republic of New Africa


 

In 2019 representatives of the NCOBRA Youth Commission sent a small delegation to the 36th Annual Gathering of Nations Pow Wow in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The delegation attended the Gathering of Nations events, and also participated in a cultural exchange with Native American youth (from various tribes and nations) and La Plazita Institute representatives at the La Plazita facilities in Albuquerque.

Each delegation had a chance to share information about their culture and was able to learn about the other's history heritage and culture. Delegations are now working toward furthering relations, and ultimately engaging in trade and commerce or doing business with one another. The cultural exchange was also supported by the Ethiopian World Federation, Incorporated, the West Dayton Youth Task Force, and the Republic of New Africa. In the year 2022, the NCOBRA Youth Commission plans to host another cultural exchange during the week leading up to the Gathing of Nations pow Wow in April 2022. http://ncobraonline.org http://laplazitainstitute.org

Native American Youth and "Black America" have a united history of struggle and must self-determine to overcome their own challenges
